Your battery will charge every time your vehicle is parked in the sun, run your fridge and recharged all electronic devices and lights. Without worring about a dead battery while out exploring.
2. Keep your power station charge, the solar panel come with standard solar connectors, use adaptors(buy separate) charge for most of the power station on the market, Jackery/Goalzero/Suoki/Flashfish…etc. If you are not sure which adapter to use please contact us.
3.Decreased hood glare. The surface of  hood solar panel is a high-quality ETFE film, which will not reflect light. And because the solar panel’s light absorbing properties, the decreased glare while driving.
4. Convenience and space saving.
The hood solar panel adheres directly to the vehicle’s hood, requiring no roof rack or mounting hardware. The complete plug-and-play system can be installed easy.  Unlike a portable solar panel, there’s no need to set it up or stow it inside of a vehicle, which can eat up precious cargo space.
5. Protect and extend battery life:As a result our batteries are only at about 60% charge at best if you drive it daily, if you park it for 2-3 weeks it won’t start in the summer. Also the battery goes bad in 2-3 years. Hood solar panel keep the vehicle battery charge to maintain the battery.
6. The optional Plug-and-play 10A Waterproof MPPT solar charge controller, has been pre-wired with fuses, terminals, and connectors. The Solar charge controller is based on common negative design and advanced MPPT control algorithm, with intelligent protection against reverse polarity, overcharging, short-circuit, and reverse current.
This solar controller compatible with Various Battery options: Sealed, AGM, Gel, Liquid and Lithium-ion.

1. Solar cell: Grade A PERC Monocrystalline solar cells with much higher efficiency and more durability than other mono solar cells.
2. Premium EFTE Film: This film features superior light transmittance and weatherproof performance, and is also heat, corrosion, and UV resistant. ETFE also has self-cleaning abilities, ensures the best performance day after day.
3. Backboard: Durable fiberglass substrate backboard, better heat dissipation than PET backboard which ensures a long lifetime. ETFE film and fiberglass backboard can withstand extreme environmental conditions, maintenance-free for years.
4. Ultrathin & Lightweight: At only 3mm thick, the solar panel is powerful, waterproof, lightweight.

Installation:
Can be fixed by 3M tape or sikaflex glue. We highly recommend install the solar panel with our specific vinly decal, the vinyl decal sits under the solar panel and protect the hood paint. The vinyl decal install on the hood in the same way that traditional hood vinyls or automotive vinyl stickers are applied.
The installation must be done in a dry environment between 18° and 35°C (64° and 95°F). In cold conditions, the solar panel will not have enough flexibility to form to your hood, and the adhesive will not properly bond. Your installation WILL FAIL.
If you don’t know how to install, we suggest you find a local auto modification shop to install.

  1. Installed this on my 2018 Off-Road Premium a few weeks ago and they are holding up great! They have been through a day of offroading including several water crossings, several rainstorms, a few extremely windy days and several hundred 70+ mph highway miles. My 4runner is my daily as well. I was a little worried about of they would cause any additional glare compared to the matte black vinyl I already had and while they are slightly shinier, they have not caused any issues.

I got these to help keep my battery charged while I run a fridge but unfortunately I’ve not been able to get a fridge yet to full test the charging but their MPPT is very compact and has a app so you can monitor it with your phone, tablet or in my case my Android radio! I will have to come back with an update once I have a fridge and can do some more testing.

For the install, taking what I’ve learned from installing vinyl a few times I made sure to clean the area really well with soap and water and then with alcohol to get as much wax and daily grime off as possible. I used a spray bottle with a couple of drops of dish soap to help me position the vinyl and then squeegeeing out the air/water. I used a microfiber towel to gently dry up the excess water followed by another pass with the squeegee. I then used a heat gun (careful not to over heat and melt the vinyl or damage your paint) to help further dry everything as well as help the vinyl stick better. I decided to line my panels up with the lines of the hood caused by the hood scoop as apposed to the outer edge. I parked my 4runner so it would get exposed to as much sun on the hood as possible and let it sit for about a day and a half, Texas 70°+ days and tons of sun light help the vinyl set up nice and secure quickly.

For the panels themselves, I prepped them while I was waiting for the vinyl to cure. I cleaned the backs with alcohol and used 1″” wide 3m VHB tape around the edges leaving about 1/8″” of a gap from the edge. I ran a second strip along the front edge of each panel as well as a second strip along the back. I then ran a couple of strips spaced out length wise down the middle for extra security and to create a small air gap. When it came time to install I worked out where I wanted the panels and marked it with painters tape. I peeled the backing off the tape and then used my heat gun to warm up the hood surface as well as the panels and tape. I positioned the panel and started sticking it down starting with the edge closes to the windshield. After getting the panel pushed down I did a pass with the heat gun again to help warm the panel slightly to help make it a little more flexible and I did another pass of pushing down where I had installed the VHB tape.

I let the panels sit over night and then came back the next day after they had been in the sun on the hood for a few hours and I added a bead of black RTV to help hold the edge down and keep any air or water from getting under the panels.

  2. I ordered my system about two months ago and received all the parts and pieces in a timely manor. The installation was super simple and went on just as instructed. The panels have enough flex to form to the contour of the hood and I haven’t had a single issue. With all the accessories I’m running I was frequently running my battery low. This system keeps my fully charged all the time and gives me the piece of mind that I won’t be left stranded due to a dead battery. Highly recommend the Solar system for your vehicle. 10 out of 10 all around. Customer service, Quality, Ease of Installation and the performance are all excellent.

  3. Installed the hood panels on my 2018 4Runner TRD pro as a part of my SEMA build. Glad that Solar took the time to develop a hood panel kit for 4Runners with the hood scoop. I’m very satisfied with the product! Would definitely recommend to those of you window shopping and debating if you should buy it or not!

  4. I purchased this kit along with the vinyl decals. First set the decals on the hood, then installed the panels on the decals using 3M VHB double sided tape. The panels are used to charge my EcoFlow power station. Having the panels on the hood makes charging much more convenient. So far very satisfied.

  5. Thank you for checking out this company and product!

I am under the same name on T4R.org (there is an install thread there) I am the owner of the featured Cement Pro, I also provided the measurements for these panels and am the first to install and run them on a hood with scoop.

About the company: extremely easy to work with, prompt and excellent communication.

About the product. Good quality and performance. I mainly use the panels directly plugged into a power station (Jackery) to power up fridge and charge devices when stationary at camp sites. Otherwise the panels are plugged into the controller which is wired into the battery to maintain it (you can also plug devices into the controller to charge).

Wiring is straight forward and all necessary hardware is provided and should not take more then 4hrs total for the install.

This is a great way to add some flexibility to your off the grid power needs while looking good!
